Participation terms

OpenSTEM Research Match provides an opportunity to express interest in academic research collaboration. An application, project-interest form, profile review, request or introduction is not a promise of acceptance, employment, funding, a supervisor or a collaboration.

Adult participation

These application forms are intended for people aged 18 or older. If you are under 18, please do not submit personal information through the platform.

Accuracy and evidence

Applicants must submit their own truthful academic information, research interests, skills and work links. Do not misrepresent degrees, grades, affiliation, publications, financial support or project involvement. Researchers must describe roles, compensation, time requirements, supervision and eligibility truthfully. Published calls have explicit opt-in and manual identity review; they are not university endorsements.

Research safety and conduct

Participants are responsible for complying with institutional policies, research ethics reviews, data protection rules, intellectual property rights, health and safety requirements, and applicable labor laws. Do not upload confidential datasets or unpublished findings without authorization.

Manual review

The OpenSTEM team may approve, decline or request updates to profiles and opportunities. Reviewing or listing a profile is not a certification of skill or identity, and the site does not guarantee candidate performance or researcher legitimacy. No public or private submission authorizes an automatic introduction; request consent before exchanging private contact details. Both sides must perform their own verification before sharing sensitive data or entering agreements.
